Kandahar, Afghanistan. Originally collected by the little-known but prolific USDA agricultural explorer E.E. Smith in 1954, “pendi” is simply the name for okra in one of the many local languages used in Kandahar. Suited to higher altitude or cooler season growing.

3.5-9′ green stemmed plants with occasional red blushing. Heavily branched. High variance between plants.
