The Utopian Seed Project is a 501(c)3 non-profit with a small staff (currently 1) and an incredible and supportive board (currently 7) – you can learn more about us here. Much of what we do is in collaboration with other people and organizations. We believe thoughtful collaborations can benefit all parties in a way that achieves greater than the sum of the individuals. We seek grant funding for specific programs and projects, but rely on philanthropy for many of our operational costs. Below are some specific ways to get involved:
We have a Patreon platform, which allows you to contribute a monthly donation (starting at $3 a month) to support our work. In return we offer rewards and consider our patrons close family, with personal updates and opportunities throughout the year.
We operate our trials at a couple of farm sites in WNC and host events during the year. Volunteer help is always appreciated and makes a huge difference, whether it’s a one off or you want to spend a a few hours at the farm each week! Please fill in the form below to start the conversation.
A lot of people (gardeners and farmers) are interested in growing the crops we are working with, which is awesome and exactly what we want! Our aim is to distribute through seed companies and nurseries, but feel free to reach out about any specific things that interest you.
